DIY Halloween Costume

This year is the first year in a long time that I've actually dressed up for halloween. We are allowed to wear costumes at my work for halloween, but last year I just wore a lame themed t-shirt, and the year before that I put on a cat ear headband and called it a day.

Well not this year! I actually put together a real costume, and I didn't pay one cent! I am a HUGE fan of The Big Bang Theory, and since my hair is dark right now, I though I'd dress up as one of my favorite characters from the show, Amy Farrah Fowler.

From Wikipedia

Amy 's typical dress is a cardigan/sweater over a button up, paired with a denim or khaki skirt, tights and closed toe shoes. She also usually has a cross body purse, and always has her glasses and little hair clip.

I already had items in my closet that would work for this. I paired a striped sweater with a floral print button down, and wore a jean skirt with Amy's ever present tights. I already wear glasses, and I even remembered that little clip she always has in her hair! I just wish my hair would have cooperated and remained straight, but it still turned out pretty good! Most people who watch the show knew who I was imitating. Everyone else just thought I was dressed strange! But hey, it was halloween!

Don't mind my expression. At this point, I was thinking "What would Amy's face look like if she posed for a photo". Probably not like this. But oh well! I'm a notorious bad picture taker. So what do you think? Would you have changed anything?
