Tutorial: Pajama Pants to Scarf!

I love flannel pajama pants. Today I'm going to show you how to give your pants a second life, and turn them into a trendy circle scarf!

You'll need some thread, a sewing machine, a hand sewing needle, and a pair of pajama pants that have seen better days.

First you want to cut the legs off of the pants, right at the top.

Then cut along the inner seam off, taking them from pant legs to a flat piece of fabric. Now, pin the short, unfinished(the top) sides together(good side in), and just sew a simple straight stitch across.

You should now have one long piece of fabric.

Now, fold the fabric in half lengthwise, good side facing in. Then pin, and sew together.

Now you have a long tube. Reach inside, and pull it right side out. The great thing about using pajama pants for this, is you don't have to hem the bottoms, it's already been done for you!

Sorry for the blurry photo... It's hard to use a camera with one hand!

Now just tuck one side into the other, and hand stitch together.

And you're done! Now since it's September in Florida, it will be a good while before I can wear it. But i'm super thrilled to be able get a second use out of these pants!

I love infinity scarves! You can wear them long,

Sorry for the hazy photo, I was chasing daylight! Also, my ring finger is not a stump, contrary to appearances in this photo.

Or short! Both ways look great!
