Paint Decisions and Bedroom Tour.

Hi all!

I have been crazy busy the past few weeks! I have a lot of new stuff to post, once the paint is done drying!! Right now the room in my house I am working on the most is my bedroom. I now have narrowed it down to three paint colors for the walls:

Pebble Gray, Granite Gray, and Seal Gray, all by Glidden

I'm really leaning towards the middle color, Granite Gray. I feel like the left is too light, and although I really like the darkest color on the right, I feel if I paint the entire room that color it will be too dark. I'm toying with the idea of an accent wall in that color, behind the bed.

So here's a tour of my bed room as-is. Right now I am working on painting a new dresser, and my new bed frame.

Blah!

Mirror- gift from my mother sprayed painted Krylon "Bauhaus Gold"

This bedroom set is pressed board and about 13 years old, gifted to me by my sister when my husband and I got married 5 years ago. I think she paid $400 for it way back when, and she got her money's worth! At this point it's basically falling apart, so I am SUPER excited to replace it with some real wood furniture.

I also picked up some new rugs at Ikea this weekend, but I haven't put them out yet because I forgot the rug pads! Silly me. I chose the GISLEV rug in Gray. Online they only show gray and red, but in store they also have purple, and a really pretty brown/tan version that may end up in my dining room!

The comforter is also 5 years old, a wedding gift from my mother. It's starting to fade, and it's got a few holes, so it's getting close to needing replaced. It's white with black flowers, and the top part has gotten dingy over the years, and because of the black I can't use bleach. This time, I want to go with a solid white, so that I can bleach it. This is the comforter I have my eye on from Target:

Threshold Pinched Pleat Comforter, White

I just recently purchased these sheets from Target, and I LOVE LOVE them. Super soft and they stay cool all night.
Threshold Organic Cotton Sheets, Gray

The throw at the end of the bed was a recent birthday gift from my baby sister. I LOVE it, but I think it clashes with my current comforter. It will look better with the solid white.

About a week ago I finally got these vintage prints put up. I found these at a goodwill 50% off sale, so I paid about $1.50 each. The colors are perfect, and I really like to have a vintage touch, even though this room is going to probably end up being the most modern room in my house.

I also need to sew some new curtains (using this tutorial), and based on the advice of Pinterest, I am going to take the curtain rod all the way up to the wall.

Higher=Better!

I found this fabric at Hobby Lobby, and I just fell in love with it. I cannot find it on their website, so I will have to update with the name later. I was originally going to make a fabric headboard using this, but since I found a beautiful bed frame, I am going to use it for my curtains(since it's nice and dark to keep the sun out), and *maybe* a matching bed skirt?

As you can see, this is a work in progress. I feel like now that I have a bed, it's finally starting to come together. Once I finish getting the furniture painted and set up, I will post another update. I'm thinking I won't get a chance to paint the walls for another couple weeks or so.

Stay tuned!
